Popular Leicestershire Restaurant Re-Launches as Fourwards Restaurant
Taking over an existing restaurant is never easy, and yet husband and wife team, Adam and Stacey Ward, have found the winning formula.
Ashfields Restaurant, located in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, had been a popular restaurant since 1987; with diners flocking to eat there from all across the County. Adam and Stacey took over the restaurant in 2018 and had been known as Fourwards at Ashfields.
Now, in conjunction with their third anniversary of taking over, they have now decided to re-brand as Fourwards Restaurant; which is a nod towards their family ethos. The hard-working pair also raise their two daughters, with the ‘Four Wards’ coming together to turn the restaurant into a second home.
“When we first took over the restaurant, we wanted to keep a lot of the original restaurant’s features, menus and ways of working.” Head Chef Adam explains.
“We knew that the restaurant was very popular and the last thing we wanted to do was to upset the regulars and long-term fans of the restaurant, so we wanted time to bed in and find our feet.”
“With it now being our third anniversary, and with the amount of time and money we have invested into the building over the past 12 months, we now felt that the time was right to relaunch as Fourwards Restaurant.”
Both Adam and Stacey are passionate about food, flavour and cooking. With two greenhouses on site, and the majority of their produce being grown and reared within 3 miles of the restaurant, they believe strongly in the need for locally and responsibly grown food. Not only do they see this as a benefit for their recipes, but for the environment too.
“Since we won the Best British Restaurant Award back in 2019, we have been working hard to keep making improvements to both the restaurant, and the food.” Stacey tells us.
“The past year has been very tough for us. Very tough indeed. However it has been a good opportunity for us to give back to the building, and to make the changes we always wanted to.”
“We have rejuvenated and refurbished the whole exterior and interior of the restaurant; including the garden spaces. We have also invested in better equipment for the kitchen too.”
”We just want to ensure that every guest that walks through our doors will feel welcome, and will enjoy dining with us.”

Fourwards Restaurant are continuing their ever-popular takeout menu and have fantastic open air dining areas in which diners can enjoy their award winning food and drinks.
